Creating a Brighter Tomorrow

As the world evolves, industries shift, and your business expands, the current environmental monitoring and testing methods aren’t enough. No. Someone needs to lead the industry into the future.

At Skyside, we’re creating a brighter tomorrow through innovative air emissions and water testing practices. Through our people. And with you.

Our attitude is to innovate. Our mission is to progress. Our approach is to collaborate with our customers. Because only by doing this can we create a safer, cleaner, brighter tomorrow.

Why we do it... Well...

Environmental data matters. It matters to you. It matters to us. It matters to our children. This is why we use dependable science and validated methods to provide credible results. Results that lead to viable solutions. Results that give you an understanding of the emissions of your plant and allow you to create a trust relationship with your neighbours. Results that allow you to live up to your commitment to contributing to a sustainable environment.

How we make change

You know, as we do, people create successful outcomes. Our team is driven by purpose and a commitment to excellence. People need the best tools. Our equipment is a vehicle through which we fulfil our commitment to you and ourselves. This commitment is to provide testing that minimises uncertainty, maximises on-site productivity, and has back-up systems that ensure success.

Stacked above the rest

If there’s a reason to do it. If there’s a benefit, even better. When it comes to stack testing, there are quite a few. This is why we conduct stack emission testing, and why you should too.
* Compliance: Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF) Air Quality Regulations, IFC, World Bank, and other international bodies
* Discovery: Find out which type of air pollutants and at what quantity is being emitted through your operational activities
* Adjustment: Make informed engineering process changes to reduce pollution
* Optimisation: Determine which equipment should be installed at your operational site to control future pollution
* Acceleration: Is your stack operating at an optimum level, and can it be improved? We'll tell you.

Tools of change

You are only as strong as your equipment. Our equipment and portable analysers ensure our results are accurate.

Here’s what we have and what we use:
* Portable Combustion and Emission analysers
* Organic Gas analysers including FID, NDIR & PID for field analysis
* Isokinetic and Gaseous Stationary Source emissions measurement equipment
* Toxic Gas analysers
* EPA Method 30B Sorbent Traps (Hg).

Breathe Easier

Air. We all breathe it. But how does your production impact it? Which air pollutants are emitted from your operational activity?

These are the International ISO and EPA standard monitoring methods we use to find the answers you need:
* Dust Fallout Monitoring - Single bucket, directional
* Gas Monitoring - BTEX, VOC, SO2, NO2, NH4, H2S, HCl, Hg & Odour
* Suspended Dust Particle - PM-10, PM-2.5. testing / monitoring
* Wastewater monitoring
* Air Quality consulting - NAEIS reporting, Fugitive Emission studies, Air Quality Management plans, Auditing
* Carbon Footprint Verification
* Greenhouse Gas Inventories
*Alliance for Water Stewardship Certification Audits

Don’t let the dust to settle

Since 1980, we’ve collected over 4 million dust samples. How? Our expert field teams who uses innovative techniques to assess, collect, and analyse every sample. We understand Dust Fallout Monitoring and know every site has its own needs.

So, we offer:
* A comprehensive evaluation of your site to determine compliant sampling locations
* Provision of single buckets or directional buckets, according to your operational needs
* Short-term and long-term monitoring services
* Detailed monthly reports that comply with the Air Quality Legislation
* Efficient monitoring networks functioning.

Equipped for tomorrow. Operating today

We measure ourselves by a different standard and work for the future today. Our equipment does the same. It has superior structural strength, is wear-resistant, and is less susceptible to theft. Plus, our fallout equipment and samplers are designed in accordance with ASTM D1739.

The certainty of knowing

Testing is a science. A science in need of constant development as your needs and as industry requirements evolve.

Our innovative testing methods focus on something the rest of the industry doesn’t. We take larger samples, test, and re-check. Yes. We test again and again. We apply this prudent approach all our accredited and pre-accredited methods. And, we only use internationally published methods.

Our Methods are:
* Validated in regular in-house and external comparative tests
* Used Internationally
* Checked on an on-going basis.

Being first.
Action. It’s essential to propel any industry or organisation into a new era of existence. We took it and became the first emissions testing company in South Africa to receive SANAS accreditation for ISO17025:2005 T0701 and the first company to be accredited for Dust Fall Monitoring.

Why all the effort? Accreditation is important, it’s how you know you’re getting the expertise you need, and it’s how we measure our effectiveness.

Our Company

You need results. We deliver reliable ones.

Our Emissions Team conducts stack testing for:
* Petrochemical industries
* Power generation industries
* Metallurgical industries (smelters, galvanising, and so on)
* Waste and waste reclamation industries
* Chemical and solvent producing industries
* Cement Industries.

Experience, experience

We all need each other. The planet needs champions. We need partners who know what they’re doing. This is why we offer a suite of consulting services for your stack operations:
* Carbon Data Quantification
* Leak Detection and Repair
* Mass Balance Quantification
* NAEIS (National Atmospheric Emission Inventory System) Update.

The new way of getting it done, together.
